Donnelly named to national team

Speed Skating Canada has come out with the list of 34 names set to represent Canada in national events across the country for the coming year – and on that list is Oshawa’s Ben Donnelly.

The skaters have been divided into three pools: the national elite, national senior and the national development pool, depending on their accomplishments last season.

A member of the national development team last year, Donnelly secured his spot once again after collecting three gold medals, two silvers and a bronze last season, earning him the accolade of 2016 World Junior Long Track Champion.
