City hosting live fire training
Exercises to take place in area of Wilson, Conlin roads
Oshawa Fire Services will be conducting live fire investigation training exercises in the area of Wilson and Conlin roads in Oshawa from June 17 to 21.
During this period, community members are reminded not to be alarmed if they notice some smoke and a large number of fire vehicles in the surrounding area.
These exercises are part of a training partnership between Oshawa Fire Services and the Office of the Fire Marshall and Emergency Management that will help train provincial fire investigators and local firefighters as well as provide research for public education programs
Fire officials say community members should be assured that these scientifically mapped out simulations will be conducted with the utmost safety in mind.
