Airport was there first: reader

Dear Editor,

I would like to ask Bill Shepherd a question regarding the airplane noise from Oshawa airport.

Mr. Shepherd, why did you buy a home so close to the airport if you don’t like the noise? I am pretty sure that the airport was there when you bought it.

Were you not compensated financially by being so close to the airport? It was more affordable than being farther away?

You seem to have used a great deal of time and energy complaining to people on this subject. Why not use the increase in the value of your home to find a new home in a more desirable area, and allow this generation to perhaps purchase a more cost effective home because of its location.

I am quite sure that your quality of life will improve greatly and you can be a happier, healthier individual.

Good luck.
