The Region of Durham’s works department is advising that work started last month on Simcoe Street North is still ongoing, and will likely continue until later this month.
The work, which started on Nov. 21, is seeing a new sanitary sewer, as well as watermain and storm sewer servicing, in order to support new development on Simcoe between Carswell Avenue and Taylorwood Road.
The region says the work is expected to be complete by Dec. 22, but advises that unfavourable weather conditions may influence this schedule.
“The region realizes that the work may be disruptive, and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible,” a news release announcing the work states.
“Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and construction workers.”
