What city councillors made in 2019

City hall has released the amount each councillor was paid by the city in 2019.

Councillors currently earn a base salary of $45,062, except for Ward 1 City Councillor Rosemary McConkey, who made $44,165.

They also receive a number of stipends for sitting on committees, mileage, and other expenses.

Regional councillors earned their pay from the city on top of what they earned at the region.

The members of council who sit as committee chairs also received an additional $5,013 in remuneration.

Each member of council is offered $5,200 in mileage expenses throughout the year, which was accepted by all, except for Mayor Dan Carter, and McConkey.
