Warrant issued in home invasion
Durham police have issued a warrant for a man they say was one of the four people involved in a robbery and assault earlier this month.
Officers were called to an apartment building on William Street West at approximately 11:20 p.m. on Sunday, June 12 for a robbery that had just occurred. According to police, a female suspect knocked on the door, stating she was looking for another male, who was a visitor in the apartment at the time. When the victim opened the door, the female and three males forced their way in. The 73-year-old victim was held in a chair with a knife to his throat while the visitor was assaulted by the suspects, who were demanding cash and drugs.
The suspects stole property from the apartment before fleeing on foot.
Both victims sustained minor injuries that did not require medical attention.
A warrant has been issued for Eric Brown, 21, who has been charged with robbery with an offensive weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon and failure to comply with a probation order. Brown is described as a white male, five feet and 10 inches tall with a thin build and has brown, wavy hair.
Brown is also wanted in a robbery that took place days later on June 15, where a resident had a knife held to her throat before personal items and narcotics were stolen.
Police advise to call them immediately and not approach Brown if he is spotted.
