The University of Ontario Institute of Technology has signed memorandums of understanding with universities in China.

The first agreement is with Beijing Polytechnic University, and will focus on developing energy systems and give students from that school an opportunity to complete their degrees at UOIT.

The second is a renewal of an agreement with North China Electric Power University, and will allow more frequent interchanges between students and faculty members.

“From our tours of labs and experiments at the North China Electric Power University in Beijing, we discovered their research capabilities complement those in our Faculty of Energy Systems and Nuclear Science,” Dr. Michael Owen, the vice-president of research, innovation and international at UOIT, states in a news release.

“At the Beijing Polytechnic University there are exciting developments to explore with our Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, as well as the Faculty of Business and Information Technology. Our agreements will open doors to many new hands-on learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students and collaborative research opportunities for our faculty members.”
