The UOIT women’s hockey team has added a few new faces for the upcoming season.
In goal, Celine Tessier and Brooke Vial will be pushing for regular time between the pipes.
Tessier returns north of the border after spending a year with Union College, a Division 1 school in Schenectady, New York. Vial, from Port Moody, BC, joins the Ridgebacks from the Greater Vancouver Comets.
On the blue-line, UOIT welcomes Blaire Allison, Jillian Banks and Sophia Christopherson.
All five forwards joining the Ridgebacks this fall come from the PWHL as UOIT welcomes Megan Johnston, Marissa Murphy, Mia Rogers, Katie Heath and Jamie Bulleid.
“I am extremely excited to add this group of talented young players to our program,” states head coach Justin Caruana in a news release.
“On ice, they will bring a great combination of speed, skill and competitiveness and off they all have great character. All of those aspects should help propel our program forward.”
The 10 athletes and the returning players will be back on campus for training camp in September as they prepare for the OUA season, which gets underway in October.
