Two men stabbed outside Taunton Road bar
Two Oshawa man are recovering in hospital after being stabbed outside of a bar over the long weekend.
At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 2, police were called to the Bear Claws Bar and Grill on Taunton Road East for a disturbance. According to police, a male suspect attacked two other males with a knife outside of the bar before fleeing the scene.
The suspect was located on Ormond Drive following assistance from a K-9 team, Durham police’s Tactical Response Unit and the Air1 helicopter. He was arrested without incident.
The two male victims, both from Oshawa and aged 22 and 25, were rushed to hospital with serious stab wounds. As of press time, both remain in serious but stable condition.
A 33-year-old male of Pentland Street has been charged with two counts each of aggravated assault and assault with a weapon, and one charge each of uttering threats and possession of a dangerous weapon.
