Teen arrested for sub shop robberies
An Oshawa teen is facing several charges after one sandwich shop was robbed two times in under a month.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, officers responded to the Subway restaurant on Wentworth Street West regarding a suspicious person. According to police, a male wearing dark clothing and a bandana was outside the shop, which has previously been robbed by a suspect with a similar description on July 26 and Aug. 13.
In those two previous robberies, a male wearing a hooded jacket and bandana entered the shop just before closing time and demanded cash. Nobody was physically injured during those robberies.
The suspect was arrested without incident.
A 17-year-old male has been charged with three counts each of robbery with threats of violence and wearing a disguise in connection with these incidents.
