Suspects wanted after knifepoint robbery in Oshawa
Durham Regional Police are looking for multiple suspects after a man was forced to drive at knife-point to a pair of bank machines and withdraw cash.
On Aug.10, at approximately 10:00 p.m., the victim attended a gas station at Simcoe Street and Bloor Street in Oshawa. As he got back into his car the suspect entered the passenger side of the vehicle and pulled out a knife. He then forced the victim to drive him to a bank machine at King Street and Simcoe Street where he withdrew some cash and gave it to the suspect.
Again, at a gas station on Wilson Road, an attempt was made to obtain money using the victim’s card through the cash back function at the counter. This failed and the victim was instructed to email transfer additional cash later that evening.
After the suspect spoke to another male at the gas station, the suspect left the vehicle and the victim drove home and contacted police. He was not physically harmed during the incident.
The suspect in the vehicle is described as: male, white, late 40s, about six feet tall, 155 pounds with a slim build, facial hair and shoulder length dark greying hair. He was wearing a yellow shirt and brown shorts.
The second suspect seen at the second gas station is described as: male, white, late 40s, about five-feet-nine-inches tall, 155 pounds with a medium build. He was wearing jeans and a white shirt.
Anyone with information that could help investigators is asked to contact D/Cst. Kerr of the Major Crime Robbery Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5365.
