Suspects arrested in Oshawa with stolen property

Four suspects are facing several charges after police found stolen property in an Oshawa hotel room.

On May 1, officers responded to a call about unwanted parties at a Bloor Street hotel. The four suspects were caught trespassing and would not leave the premises when asked to. Further investigation lead to the finding of numerous stolen items including power tools and clothing. Some merchandise still had tags attached.

The four suspects from Cobourg, Grafton, Ajax and Oshawa have been charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000, theft under $5,000 and failing to leave premises when directed.

One group member is also charged with failing to comply with probation, while another is being charged for failing to comply with recognizance. Two members were held for bail hearings, the other two were released on a promise to appear in court.

Efforts have started to return the stolen property to its rightful owners.
