A man is facing several charges after a suspect demanded fentanyl and other drugs during a robbery of an Oshawa pharmacy.
According to police, a male suspect entered the Shoppers Drug Mart on Warren Avenue at approximately 3:15 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 16. Inside, the suspect, who said he had a gun, demanded fentanyl and other narcotics from the pharmacist. Police note that while the suspect indicated he was armed, no weapon was seen.
After receiving a quantity of narcotics, the suspect fled the store. Loss prevention officers immediately called police, and officers arrested a suspect a short time later nearby.
A 26-year-old male has been charged with one count of robbery and four counts of failure to comply with a probation order in connection with this incident.
