An Oshawa resident is in serious condition after the scooter she was riding was hit by a car.
At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, Durham police responded to a call for an electric scooter being hit by a vehicle on Ravine Road in Oshawa. The scooter’s operator, a 74-year-old Oshawa woman, was heading southbound on the sidewalk when a 22-year-old male driver attempted to back out of his driveway.
In the process, the scooter was knocked over, causing the woman to fall to the ground and hit her head.
The woman was taken to Lakeridge before being taken by air ambulance to a Toronto hospital. As of press time, she remains in serious condition.
