Road closures coming for parades

Saturday driving set to be impacted over coming weekends

The coming weekends will be busy ones in Oshawa’s downtown core as parades are set to take over city streets for two consecutive Saturdays.

On Nov. 11, drivers take note that for the Remembrance Day parade, between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m., Metcalfe Street between Simcoe and Centre will be closed along with Richmond Street between Mary and Simcoe. Following that, Centre Street between King and John, and John Street between King and Simcoe will be closed from 10:25 a.m. to 12 p.m.

On Nov. 18, Santa’s Parade of Lights will stream through the downtown, with closures from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on King Street between Stevenson and Gibbons, and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on King Street between Gibbons and Simcoe, Simcoe between Athol and Bond, and Bond between Simcoe and Stevenson.
