Rent prices stay stable in Oshawa last month

Rent prices in Oshawa remained stable in February, but continue to be up significantly from 2018 levels.

According to a recent Canadian rent report from PadMapper, Oshawa remains the ninth most expensive market in all of Canada.

The report, which reviewed hundreds of listings across 24 of the country’s largest cities, shows the average price for a one-bedroom apartment in Oshawa remains at $1,200, while the median rental price for a two-bedroom apartment is $1,390.

The price of one-bedroom apartments in Oshawa has risen 13.6 per cent in the past year, while the cost of two-bedrooms are up 14 per cent.

The city is tied with Hamilton and Kitchener in ninth place.

The most expensive market for a one-bedroom is in Toronto at $2,260, while Vancouver has the highest average for two-bedrooms at $3,260.

Windsor has the cheapest one-bedroom apartments at $720, while St. John, Nfld. is at $890.
