The Region of Durham thinks it has found the best group to serve as its ombudsman.
According to a report presented to the region’s finance and administration committee, the proposal presented by ADR Chambers Inc. will be given the green light. According to its proposal, ADR Chambers will be given an annual retainer fee of $12,000, with any investigations billed at $250 per hour plus taxes.
The report also states that services through ADR Chambers, such as special presentations to local councils, will be billed at that same rate.
If the contract is approved at the next meeting of regional council, currently scheduled for June 29, ADR Chambers would get started in its new role as of July 1, and be under contract until the end of 2022.
