Regional business count returns
Businesses across Durham should expect a visit from the region very soon.
Throughout the spring and summer, the region’s planning and economic development department will be conducting its fifth business count, surveying local businesses to gather information on their operations.
The business count, which will hit all businesses in Durham Region, is expected to last from May through until August. The business count team will be wearing navy blue Durham Region shirts and have photo ID cards.
“Now in its fifth year, the business count has allowed us to promote, serve and enhance resources for Durham Region’s many unique businesses,” states Brian Bridgeman, the region’s commissioner of planning and economic development, in a news release.
“The valuable data collected through the business count survey allows us to monitor economic trends; develop business attraction and retention strategies; forecast infrastructure and service requirements; and plan transit services.”
Along with in-person visits, businesses have the option to complete an online survey at durham.ca/businesscount.
