Recycling debate continues on

Dear Editor,

Re “A simpler approach to recycling” (Letters. Nov. 27): If stealing recyclables put out for the city provides sufficient remuneration to justify the use of pick-up trucks, then the amount of money being lost is worth saving.

Scrap metal is where the action is, and I suggest that the city monitor the scrap metal yards in the area, to watch for pick-up trucks delivering stolen material for payment. And no, it’s not necessary to “run sentry over your curbside recyclables for a night”; all you have to do is put them out by 7:30 a.m. on the day of delivery!
