Puck drops on Gens’ training camp

Players, prospects and coaches descend on GM Centre for three days of practice and scrimmages

It’s the moment Oshawa Generals fans have been waiting for.

With the opening of Oshawa Generals training camp on Sept. 1, it means the regular season is only weeks away, and fans don’t have much longer to wait to see their Gens in action.

According to the recently released schedule, on-ice training began today (Sept. 2) at 8:45 a.m with a Team White practice. This is followed by a 10 a.m. scrimmage between Teams Red and White.

Team Red will be back on the ice for practice at 3:45 p.m. followed by a scrimmage between Teams White and Blue at 5 p.m.

The boys will be back on the ice again on Sept. 3 with Team White hitting the GM Centre first with a practice at 8:45 a.m.

The practice is followed by a pair of scrimmages between Teams Red and Blue at 10 a.m and Teams Red and White at 4:15 p.m.

A scrimmage on Sept 4 at 12 p.m. between Teams Red and White wraps up the training camp.

All scrimmages are free to the public.

Fans have a chance to see a few familiar faces hit the ice along with several new faces including first round draft pick Jack Studnicka, fourth rounder Kyle MacLean and fifth rounder Sullivan Sparkes.

A full roster for the camp was not available as of The Oshawa Express press deadline.
