People’s Party arrives in Durham riding

Canada’s newest federal political party has officially arrived in Durham Region.

Late last month, Elections Canada officially recognized The Durham – People’s Party of Canada (PPC) as an official electoral district association.

The association will act as the official representative of the party in Durham, and select a candidate for this fall’s election.

The riding encompasses the City of Oshawa, Clarington, Port Perry and Scugog.

Andre Linsky is the association’s first president.

“We are very proud to be representing Maxime Bernier’s People’s Party of Canada in the riding of Durham. I am excited that we now have a real alternative in federal politics,” Linsky said in a media release. “We have a lot of work to do and are actively looking for volunteers to help us change the way things are done in Canada.”

Linsky can be contacted at members@peoplespartydurham.com

The People’s Party of Canada was formed by Bernier shortly after he resigned from the Conservative Party last September.
