Parolee on the lam

The Ontario Provincial Police’s Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad is seeking the public’s help in tracking down a federal offender wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

Mohamed Hersi, 29, is described as a black male, six feet and one inch tall, weighs 209 pounds, has black hair and wears prescription glasses.

Hersi is currently serving a two-year, three-month sentence for break and enter, assault with a weapon, robbery and forcible confinement. The ROPE Squad says Hersi is known to frequent the areas around Ottawa and Toronto.

Anyone who has had contact with Hersi or has information as to his whereabouts is asked to call the ROPE Squad at 1-866-870-ROPE (7673) or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or to call 9-1-1.
