The first- and fourth-round picks of the Oshawa Generals in the 2015 OHL priority selection have officially committed to the team.
First rounder Jack Studnicka was selected 21st overall by the Generals and future teammate Kyle MacLean, selected in the fourth round, will both hit the ice for the Gens’ training camp this summer.
Studnicka, a centreman from Tecumseh, Ont., played last season with the U16 Detriot Belle Tire and led his team in points with 31 goals and 58 assists.
“We are thrilled to have Jack committed to the Oshawa Generals and we look forward to him being an instrumental part to the next chapter for the Oshawa Generals,” said general manager Roger Hunt in a press release.
MacLean, son of Oshawa native and former Gen John MacLean, recorded 14 goals and nine assists in 26 games as a left winger with the New Jersey Rockets last season.
“We’re looking forward to having Kyle back on the ice at the GM Centre for training camp when it opens in September,” Hunt said in the same release.
