Oshawa woman charged with abduction of infant daughter

An Oshawa woman has been charged with kidnapping her infant daughter.

On Friday, March 15, at around 4:20 p.m., police were called to a residence near Conlin Road East and Simcoe Street North for an alleged parental abduction.

Police say an 18-year-old woman took the nine-month-old infant from her legal guardians without permission.

The suspect left the area in a rental vehicle and headed west towards London.

With assistance from Ontario Provincial Police, the woman and her infant were located near Woodstock and the suspect was taken into custody.

The child was found in good health and returned to her legal guardians.

The 18-year-old woman has been charged with abduction in contravention of a custody order, and was released on a promise to appear.
