Applications are now being accepted for the position of head coach for Oshawa Minor Hockey’s midget AA.
Interested individuals must apply in writing and include their coaching resume and other relevant experience, such as teaching or coaching other sports.
They must also have a statement of Hockey Canada qualifications.
Development 1 certification is required. Those with “Trained” status will be required to complete the certification process by December 2019.
Applicants must also have references familiar with coaching experience, and an explanation of why they wish to coach the team.
The midget head coach is expected to work with the Midget AAA program in assuring that players are prepared to perhaps be their affiliates and/or make the AAA team the following season. As well, the head coach must be prepared to work within Oshawa Minor’s extensive development program.
Midget AAA tryouts begin Aug. 23 and the AA coach should attend these.
Tryouts for Midget AA will begin by the end of the month as long as there are enough bonafide players to create a team.
Applications are to go to the technical director Richard Bercuson at: Technical.Director@oshawahockey.com
Deadline for applications is Friday, Aug. 9, with interviews shortly thereafter. Not all applicants will be interviewed.
