Oshawa man charged in connection with gas station robbery

A 23-year-old Oshawa male has been charged in connection with the armed robbery of a gas station in Oshawa.

On June 14, around 4:35 a.m., the man entered the Ultramar in the Simcoe Street South and Bloor Street East area. He approached the employee behind the counter and pointed a handgun at him. The suspect stole a quantity of lottery tickets then left the scene on foot.

The 23-year-old Oshawa male has been charged with robbery, disguise with intent, dangerous weapons, use of imitation firearm, possessing property obtained by crime, and theft under $5,000. He was held for a bail hearing.

The firearm has not been located.
