The city is a smart place to be – just ask the folks at the Intelligent Community Forum.
The New York based group has announced that Oshawa will be included in its list of 21 smart communities for 2016.
According to a news release from the city, the distinction is based on six criteria, including broadband connectivity, a knowledgeable workforce, level of innovation, digital inclusion, sustainability and advocacy.
“Being recognized as one of the top 21 smart communities in the world is a tremendous accomplishment for Oshawa,” states Mayor John Henry in a news release. “Having the city acknowledged on the world stage is a testament to the partnerships that have been developed with business, education and other stakeholders who have helped contribute to the city’s revitalization and advancement.”
