Oshawa golfer nets bronze

It was a big day for Oshawa’s Madelin Boyd, who took home a bronze medal at the Ontario Peewee Golf Championships at Puslinch Lake Golf Course on July 26.

Boyd was quite a distance from her home Lakeridge Links Golf Club, but still managed an impressive eight-over 78 in the first round. She followed it up with a 74 to finish the tournament 12-over.

Boyd finished behind Markham’s Victoria Zheng, who hoisted the championship trophy with a six-over par finish, and Brampton’s Brooke Rivers, who finished the tournament in second place after shooting nine-over par on the tournament.
