To find Oshawa on MoneySense’s list of the best places to live in Canada, you have to do some digging.
Coming in at spot 121, Oshawa dropped 12 places from the 2015 edition of the list. While the city was lauded for its healthy population growth, low taxes, low crime and a strong arts and sports community, it came in well below other communities in Durham Region, with Pickering coming in at 35, Whitby at 42, Uxbridge at 45, Ajax at 52 and Clarington at 60.
The highest ranked community in the country was Ottawa, while New Glasgow, Nova Scotia came in at the bottom of the list of 219 communities.
According to the MoneySense website, the list was compiled using 35 different criteria, including population growth, tax rates, access to medical care and more.
