One of Oshawa’s beaches has made it three straight weeks with safe waters. The other, however, has been posted for high E. coli levels.
According to a release from the regional health department, Lakeview Beach East has been posted – meaning potential swimmers are strongly advised against taking a dip – after tests found E. coli levels were above the set limit of 100 E. coli per 100 mL of water.
The waters at Lakeview Beach West, however, are below that and therefore safe to swim in.
Lakeview Beach East is one of five beaches in Durham Region that had E. coli levels above the acceptable levels.
