In the 11 May edition, you have a story about anaerobic digesters, and yet another European junket for our regional councillors and staff. No doubt, this trip will be as costly to us taxpayers as their previous one that ended up seeing us saddled with the mass-burn garbage incinerator we now have in our backyard.
In the article, you state that a Mr. Duke from the Ministry of Agriculture suggests that here, we may not have enough organic material to fuel such an operation in a viable manner. He says we lack large feedlots and very large dairy farms and pig farms to supply a great volume of manure.
If BS is an option, may I suggest we look no further than the Durham Region council chambers. There seems to be an ample supply there!
