The Durham Lords’ women’s volleyball program has added Alexa Armstrong as its newest member.
Armstrong has recently graduated from Sinclair Secondary School in her hometown of Whitby. She will be enroled in the environmental technology program at Durham College.
“This year we’re excited with the group of incoming athletes we have coming to Durham College,” says team coach Tony Clarke. “With our group of graduates we know our recruits will be on court in key roles for us and expect them to make a smooth transition to the OCAA.”
Armstrong is a 6’1 middle that will bring a key defensive aspect to the game.
Over the past two seasons, Armstrong has played with the DRVC Rebels in the OVA.
“I really enjoy the team aspect of volleyball,” she says. “At both the Durham Attack and DRVC, I was fortunate to have played with some wonderful teammates and coaches.”
Armstrong understands the success that the Lords women’s volleyball program has had under Clarke over the past three years.
“It’s very exciting to be part of a successful program like this,” says Armstrong.
