New economic development commissioner named

The replacement for Alex Georgieff has been found.

Brian Bridgeman, who had been sitting as the region’s director of current planning, has been named as Durham’s new planning and economic commissioner. Bridgeman’s appointment has been approved by both the financial and administration committee, as well as regional council.

Georgieff first announced he would be retiring in November, officially leaving his post in February.
