The Downtown Oshawa BIA is welcoming a new executive director.
Effective June 1, Amanda McDonald will take on the position, coming in from Welland, Ont.
An Oshawa native and alumna of Brock University, Canadore College and Durham College, Amanda is currently completing her Masters of Arts in Applied Health Sciences at Brock.
According to a media release, her goal is to build upon the work accomplished to date by the BIA by engaging with and strengthening the organization’s membership offer.
McDonald brings experience in event and strategic planning, and a passion for economic development, recreation, culture and local business.
Amanda’s previous accomplishments as an executive director, and grants and sponsorship director, along with her studies and knowledge in marketing and communication strategies, will continue to build upon the successes of previous ODBIA executive director Garth Johns,” BIA chairperson Nancy Shaw said in the media release. “With Amanda’s wealth of knowledge and experience I am confident she will take our downtown to a new level.”
