Two Oshawa residents are facing charges after an outdoor marijuana grow operation was discovered over the weekend.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, police observed a pick up truck parked near an open field on Conlin Road near Wilson Road. According to police, two males were located near the truck, with officers noting several large containers of water in the vehicle. A subsequent search by Air 1, Durham police’s helicopter, and a K-9 unit uncovered 70 marijuana plants at various stages of growth in the nearby fields.
Police estimate the plants are worth approximately $70,000.
A 52-year-old male of Conlin Road and a 36-year-old male of Cypress Avenue have been charged with production of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking in connection with this incident.
