Three people are facing an array of charges after $77,000 in drugs and cash were seized during a drug bust in Whitby.
On April 5, members of the DRPS Central West Target Team, Criminal Investigation Bureau and the Drug Enforcement Unit concluded a drug investigation by executing a search warrant at a residence on Dufferin Street in Whitby.
The warrant was assisted by the fact that the day before, as part of the same investigation, officers seized 3,530 grams of marijuana and approximately $7,000 in cash during a traffic stop. During the search of the home, 3,505 grams of marijuana, one gram of shatter, and 16.5 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, THC, cash and other drug paraphernalia were seized.
A 23-year-old male of Pickering is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds obtained by crime. He was arrested and later released on a promise to appear in court.
As well, a 25-year-old female of Simcoe Street in Oshawa and a 21-year-old of Dufferin Street in Whitby are charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of Trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon. They were held for bail hearings.
