Man failed to remain at the scene of collision

Police are looking for witnesses or the driver of a vehicle who struck a pedestrian early this morning.

On April 26, at approximately 5:45 a.m., a 49-year-old woman was crossing the road at Gibb Street and Stevenson Road South in Oshawa, when she was struck by a vehicle turning left from Stevenson Road onto Gibb Street.

The male driver of the vehicle stopped to check on the pedestrian, then left the scene of the collision after the pedestrian said she was fine.

The victim was taken to hospital a short time later with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
