Man arrested for graffiti

graffitiAn Oshawa man is among those charged after a spree of graffiti tags in Orono, Bowmanville, Oshawa, Whitby and Port Hope.

According to police, commercial buildings and bridges near railway lines were tagged with similar markings.

On March 10, three suspects were arrested, with search warrants executed at two residences, which turned up paint and markers that had been stolen from local department stores.

A 25-year-old male of Wilson Road in Oshawa has been charged with 19 counts of mischief under $5,000.

Also charged in this case are a 20-year-old male of Bowmanville with 22 counts of mischief under $5,000 and two counts of theft under $5,000, and a 17-year-old female of Clarington with two counts of mischief under $5,000 and one count of theft under $5,000.

Police have released images of similar incidents, and are asking the public to contact the investigating officer if they see similar tags.
