With a new year comes a new need for blood donations.
Canadian Blood Services is calling on the public to donate blood this year. Especially wanted are those with O-negative blood, as it is compatible with all other blood types and is used in critical situations because it can be used when there isn’t time to find out what a patient’s blood type is.
To be eligible to donate blood, you must be at least 17 years of age, in good general health and feeling well on the day of donation.
The Oshawa clinic is open Mondays and Tuesdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
