Louise Pitre hits the stage
Tony award nominee Louise Pitre is returning to Oshawa with her new show, Chasing Rainbows.
Pitre takes audiences on a journey through yesteryear as she sings the songs of Judy Garland, while she is accompanied by Diane Leah on piano.
Following her performances at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre in the new Broadway-bound musical “Marie,” where she plays the titular character, and her performance in The Musical Stage Company’s production of Next to Normal at the CAA Theatre in Toronto, the Mansfields are presenting Pitre in Oshawa, for the second consecutive year.
Receiving a Tony nomination for her Broadway debut in Mamma Mia! was a highlight for Pitre, in a career that spans theatre, television and concert stages across North America and Europe.
In addition to headlining the Toronto, Broadway and US touring company casts of Mamma Mia!, Louise is known for her performances as Fantine in Les Misérables (Toronto, Montreal and Paris), the title character in Edith Piaf, Mama Rose in Gypsy and countless more starring roles.
The show takes place on June 27, at 8 p.m. at the Regent Theatre. Tickets are $35.
Tickets available at sillystages.com or by telephoning the theatre directly at 905-721-3399 (ext 2).
