The Region of Durham is reminding residents to put their recycling out a day later than normal due to changes in the collection schedule caused by the Labour Day holiday.
For the week of Sept. 4 to 9, residents in Oshawa and Whitby will see their blue box an collection pushed to the following day to accommodate the holiday Monday.
Garbage and green bin collection for Oshawa and Whitby residents is the responsibility of the individual municipalities, not the Region of Durham. These residents are asked to check their waste calendars or contact their local municipality regarding collection of these items.
Residents are also reminded to have blue box materials at the curb by 7 a.m. on the day of collection.
