Kolio’s bringing the classics back

Classical guitarist Kolio is bringing 50 years of experience to the stage at the Regent Theatre.

This will be the first large-scale concert the classical guitarist has performed in        Oshawa.

He will be performing selections from a number of classical composers such as Bach, and Handel, along with his own compositions. If you are a guitar aficionado, this performance is a must see.

Starting at a young age, Kolio refined his guitar technique in Europe, performing many genres of music, including rock, popular music and classical.

He has performed in a variety of venues, both as a solo artist, and with a band or orchestra.

Based in Toronto for the past 20 years, Kolio has continued to dedicate himself to the guitar, but with age, he started to focus almost exclusively on classical music.

He is also a composer, releasing his debut album in 2002. Its lead track ‘So Far Away’    has won over the hearts of many with its powerfully melancholic melody.

The album also includes pieces such as Asturias by the Spanish composer and pianist Isaac Albéniz.

Due to the ambience-building quality of his performances, Kolio has been seen              playing often in Toronto over the past 10 years.

The recommended age for this concert is 14 and older, but seven and older will be allowed to attend.

Tickets to the show, which takes place on June 13, cost $35 each, and can be purchased at regenttheatre.ca
