Children of all ages are invited to come out to the Kids’ Safety Village of Durham Region for an event filled with decorations, lights and holiday spirit. And best of all, it’s free.
Taking place from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 18 to Nov. 26, the village, located at 1129 Athol St. in Whitby, will play host to 26 miniature buildings from Cullen Gardens and Miniature Village. As well, the safety village’s storefronts will be dressed up for the holidays.
If you come out on Nov. 18, Nov. 19, Nov. 25 or Nov. 26, you can enjoy a free cup of hot chocolate, courtesy of the Optimist Club. As well, you can have fun creating festive decorations with Station Gallery volunteers, meet members of Durham Regional Police in the police station, firefighters from across Durham Region in the village fire hall, and members of the Rotary and Lions Club.
While the event is free, attendees are asked, if they can, to donate spare change that will go towards the Kids’ Safety Village of Durham Region’s smoke house classroom.
