Given the local history of General Motors Canada, it is fitting they’ve been involved with the annual Autofest event since the beginning.

For the first 13 years of the event, General Motors Canada graciously donated space at its headquarters on Colonel Sam Drive in Oshawa to the Motor City Car Club.

Once Autofest expanded to two days, it moved to Lakeview Park on the shores of Lake Ontario but the relationship with General Motors remains strong.

GM is once again serving as a sponsor for the event, marking its 25th anniversary this year, and some of the cars featured in the show were likely built right here in Oshawa.

Autofest takes place on Aug. 25 and 26.
