Get a rare glimpse of Parkwood Estate
Celebrate McLaughlin Week at Parkwood Estate with a tour of the basement of the mansion.
This rare opportunity, offered once a year, gives visitors a glimpse into the service areas of the estate including the family vault; the central clockworks system; the elevator engine room, and more.
According to Parkwood officials, the tour of the basement interprets what it was like to run the mansion. Tours are available Saturday, Aug. 3 through Sunday, Aug. 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at $15 per person. This year, tickets can be pre-booked online through the Parkwood event page at parkwoodestate.com

McLaughlin’s contributions to Canada and the nationally-significant architectural, interior and landscape designs.
The Civic holiday Monday in August has been designated McLaughlin Day in the City of Oshawa, in recognition of the philanthropic and community legacy of R.S. McLaughlin and his family.
Parkwood is located at 270 Simcoe Street North at the corner of Adelaide Street in Oshawa.
