Gens acquire goaltender Keyser from Flint

In a trade with the Flint Firebirds, the Oshawa Generals have acquired goalie Kyle Keyser in exchange for a second round pick in the 2017 OHL Priority Draft.

Last season with the Firebirds, Keyser appeared in 17 games, recorded a 0.880 save percentage and won the OHL’s Ivan Tennant Memorial Award for Top High School Academic Player. He will be eligible for the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

Keyser may play an important role in the team’s goaltending roster with the current injury to back-up Logan Gautier.

“Kyle will further strengthen our depth at the most important position for a number of seasons. We are very excited to welcome him to the Generals,” said vice-president and general manager Roger Hunt in a news release.
