The Generals have been swept by the Ottawa 67’s in the 2019 Conference Final.
As the Gens headed into Game 4 at home against Ottawa, the team hoped to be able to mount a comeback after starting the series down 3-0 to a team which had not lost yet in the playoffs..
To begin the first period, the Generals came out of the gate strong as they outshot their opponent 10-6.
However neither team was able to best goaltenders Kyle Keyser for the Gens and Michael DiPietro for Ottawa until early in the second period when Ty Tullio chipped in the first goal of the game, giving Oshawa the early lead.
Keyser continued his dominant performance all the way through to the dying seconds of the third period when Tye Felhaber took advantage of a powerplay and tied the game with only 34 seconds remaining.
Heading into overtime it didn’t take long for Felhaber put a wrist shot past Keyser to end the game and the series, eliminating the Generals in the process.
While Oshawa ultimately lost the game and the series, two strong performances led to two Generals being named stars of the game, as Keyser was named the first star of the game after stopping 42 of 44 shots and almost achieving the shutout, and Tullio was the second star after scoring the first goal of the game, as well as the only goal not scored on the powerplay.
Oshawa was outshot 44-22, and went 0-for-3 on the powerplay.
