Fire under investigation

Durham police have announced that a late August fire has been deemed arson and is now under investigation.

At approximately 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 24, Oshawa firefighters responded to a fire at a townhouse on Olive Avenue. Several residents were evacuated, with five units on the street sustaining damage from the blaze.

There were no physical injuries reported as a result of the fire.

The Ontario Fire Marshall was called in, and it has been determined that the fire was deliberately set.
