Fake firearm found at local high school
Two Oshawa youths are facing a number of charges following the seizure of drugs and an imitation firearm at RS McLaughlin CVI.
On March 1, police were dispatched to the high school following reports of a man with a gun. When they arrived, a 16-year-old student was arrested after allegations that he was in possession of a handgun. The school was placed in a hold and secure for a brief period of time.
The imitation firearm and a quantity of drugs were found in the school.
A 16-year-old male from Oshawa is charged with trafficking a controlled substance (marijuana) and possessing an imitation firearm in a public place.
A 17-year-old female from Oshawa is also charged with possessing an imitation firearm in a public place.
