Enjoy a “Girls Nite Out”
If you are looking for a chance to escape for the evening, turn off your phone and enjoy a Girls Nite Out.
Oshawa’s historic Regent Theatre is hosting a “side-splitting evening” of stand-up and improv on Saturday, May 25.
Girls Nite Out is an all-female troupe consisting of some of Canada’s top stand up comedians and comedic improvisers.
The cast includes Elvira Kurt, host of the game show Spin Off, and four other comedians.
Girls Nite Out has been featured on NBC, The Comedy Network and CBC.
Collectively, they have been performing for more than a decade, entertaining audiences across Ontario and the Maritimes.
But organizers stress this show isn’t just for women and will entertain anyone who attends.
Organizer Blackrose Entertainment will donate $2 per ticket to YWCA Durham up to a maximum donation of $1,000.
YMCA Durham was established more than 70 years ago and provides programs, services, and resources for women, children, and families.
Notable programs include the WISH Shelter for women and children escaping abuse, 2nd Stage Housing for at-risk women, an interim housing program for homeless women, and a supportive housing program where women live independently after rebuilding their lives, free from violence.
